Megan Zimmer MA, NCC, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor. She received her Master’s degree in Community & Agency Counseling from Fairfield University. Ms. Zimmer is the CBITS Program Coordinator at Southwest Community Health Center in Bridgeport, CT, where she has worked as a mental health counselor for 11 years specializing in the following areas: child and adolescent trauma, infectious disease, and co-occurring mental health and substance abuse.
In 2015, Megan trained in the CBITS (Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools) program and later the Bounce Back program as part of a state-wide initiative to address the needs of children coping with trauma exposure by expanding trauma-informed services to communities throughout the state. Ms. Zimmer is a certified clinician and site-based trainer in the state of Connecticut; and to-date has run over 30 CBITS and Bounce Back groups.
In 2019, Megan became a Regional Trainer for the National CBITS and Bounce Back programs and has enjoyed training others throughout the Northeast.
