Program Coordinator, The Hub

Kaitlin (she/her) began at The Hub as an AmeriCorps Prevention Corps member working on community-focused solutions in opioid education, awareness, and stigma reduction. After completing her one-year service term, she was invited to continue working with The Hub as a Program Coordinator. As Program Coordinator, she leads the Region 1 Southwest CT Catchment Area Council (CAC) initiatives as well as oversee four Local Prevention Councils.

 She is a certified Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Trainer, Naloxone Trainer and NAMI SMARTS for Advocacy Trainer. Kaitlin graduated from the Forensic Psychology Bachelor’s and Master’s degree program from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. She is also an Adjunct Professor at John Jay, teaching several courses in the Department of Counseling and Human Services.

She participates in the department’s Anti-Racist Committee to develop inclusive curriculum, and the Safe Zone Committee to provide trainings to advocate and raise awareness for LGBTQIA+ individuals. Kaitlin has also worked with at-risk youth and young adults through the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) in NYC, teaching high school students about Mental Health & Wellness. Her work is driven by her personal experiences, and a passion for mental health and prevention.
