Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) Coordinator, Bridgeport Child Advocacy Coalition
Raised in Bridgeport after coming from Puerto Rico at a young age, Diana Planas has worked with families and children the past 16 years. Diana is Bilingual and has worked closely with Bridgeport Public Schools District as an advocate, therapist, and most recently as program coordinator. Now, as the coordinator for PLTI, Diana is in charge of implementing and coordinating the PLTI 20 week curriculum which consist of civic engagement and parent empowerment. Diana is trained in various disciplines including SEL, Restorative Practice and Parenting Now.
Diana received her MS in Counseling from Walden University and her BS in Art Education from Southern Connecticut State University. Diana is a member of the Connecticut’s commissioner’s round table on education, Bridgeport School Volunteers Association and Connecticut’s Family and School Partnership Advisory Council.
